JOIN US FOR THE 31st ANNUAL SALUTE RECEPTION AND DINNER TBD AT 6:00 PM AT THE CHARLES H. WRIGHT MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY
This years dinner is an event packed evening that includes a celebration of the Tuskegee Airmen and the ribbon cutting of the new museum of the Tuskegee Airmen National Museum @ the Charles H. Wright Museum.
Tuskegee Airmen Flight Academy is a program for youth ages 14 to 19 who want to become airline pilots. Youth should also have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4 point scale or have good recommendations for good deportment. The program consist of covering the requirements to become an airline pilot and a course to pass the FAA Private Pilot Ground School Test. In the spring youth will begin to fly the Tuskegee Airmen Motorgliders. The program will be conducted every Thursday from 6:00PM to 8PM at Detroit City Airport. Summer Youth Programs
Aviation Career Education Academy I & II(ACE I&II) an FAA Program administered by the Tuskegee Airmen National Museum, the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees, Wayne State University and the Black United Fund of Michigan. The program is open to students who will be in the 8th , 9th and 10th grades in the fall of 2019 and who may or may not have an interest in aviation. The Academy is a 5 day program from July TBD thru the TBD of 2020 at Wayne State University. ACE Academy III is held in Ypsilanti, MI date TBD. All ACE Academies will be virtual this summer due to COVID-19 and the Stay At Home Protocols.
